Project Overview

The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Replacement for Montgomery County MUD No. 119 represents a major investment in modern wastewater infrastructure—designed to increase treatment capacity, improve environmental compliance, and support continued community growth. This ground-up replacement project involved the complete construction of a new treatment facility, integrating advanced process systems, structural improvements, and energy-efficient design features to ensure long-term reliability and performance.

Scope & Key Components

Reytec provided comprehensive construction services for all aspects of the new plant, including:

  • Main process basins and aerobic digesters to handle expanded treatment loads.
  • Electrical and chemical buildings with new service equipment, control systems, and chemical storage facilities.
  • Non-potable water pump station, WAS pump station, and sump pump station for optimized plant operation and redundancy.
  • Blowers, generators, and fuel tanks to support uninterrupted operations and emergency resiliency.
  • Site grading, drainage, and paving (concrete and crushed concrete) to ensure accessibility and stormwater control.
  • Protective coatings, duct banks, pull boxes, and all associated piping, manholes, and inlets.
  • Hydro-mulch seeding and full site restoration.
  • Demolition and tie-in work to connect the new facility seamlessly with existing utility infrastructure.

Every system—from mechanical components to electrical controls—was built to meet strict specifications and environmental regulations, ensuring a fully functional and compliant facility upon completion.

Challenges & Execution Approach

Replacing an existing treatment plant while maintaining uninterrupted wastewater service required meticulous phasing, coordination, and risk management. Reytec’s experienced team worked closely with Quiddity Engineering and Montgomery County to ensure tie-ins, testing, and system startups occurred smoothly and safely.
The confined site and complex sequencing demanded precise scheduling, technical discipline, and a strong safety culture, all of which were hallmarks of Reytec’s execution.

Impact & Benefits

The new WWTP significantly enhances Montgomery County MUD No. 119’s ability to serve its residents with greater efficiency, capacity, and environmental protection. Upgraded process systems improve treatment performance while reducing energy consumption and long-term maintenance costs. The facility’s design also incorporates modern safety, control, and redundancy systems to ensure operational stability for decades to come.
